Our BIGGEST Stampede Breakfast Ever, in the Books!

Wow! What a morning we had last Friday.

After missing two years of our previously VERY awaited Stampede Breakfast, we were beyond ready to host something bigger and better than ever.

But we had NO IDEA just how much bigger and better you would all make it!

We welcomed over 700 people this year! The line went around the block and we are BEYOND grateful that you all stuck it out and joined us!

Here’s a few fun stats about the food we got to serve:

The Batter Boys and the Stampede Promotion Committee mixed up 54 kgs of pancake mix - we estimate that was about 1600 pancakes flipped and served. In two hours! Plus an additional 1800 sausages.

We consumed 660 juice boxes - or 21 flats of juice (generously donated by Lassonde, by the way! They donate to us every single year and with minimal recognition 💙).

We powered through about 18 GALLONS of coffee courtesy of our friends at Higher Ground Kensington who donated all of it!

And we also scarfed down a few boxes of pastries gifted from Cobbs Bread Kensington and 2 boxes of fruit from our always generous friends at Sunnyside Natural Market.

COMMUNITY, y’all. We are SO grateful.

Not to mention, the Accessible Housing team came out to volunteer ALL morning - which they have for YEARS and we cannot imagine the day without them!

You know what else? We did a little calculating 🤓 and, considering our first Stampede Breakfast was back in 2006, with 2 years lost to the pandemic, then that makes this our 15th Annual Stampede Breakfast!

To be honest, that was kind of a happy accident. We NEEDED to have a big bash after the last couple years and we know all of you did, too!

A huge thank you to our musicians - you made the event SO much fun! Singing, dancing, toe tapping - it was all just amazing. Thank you to The Enablers with Cat Hesketh who always rock! And lovely newcomers (to us) Maddie Lee and Emma Mabley - just amazing!

We are so proud to be part of Kensington, Hillhurst and Sunnyside! This community is unbeatable in our opinion! Thank you to the Kensington BRZ for always being SO supportive, fun, and helpful (Annie, we love you!) and to our amazing residents and friends InGear and The New Forest for always stepping up, sharing the love, and giving so freely.

Additionally, to so many of our incredible neighbours who donated to our raffles - Crave Cupcakes, Hayden Block, The Bee Hive (donated an entire basket of goodies!), and the Kensington Dollar Store - you’re the real MVPs! We are so grateful for all of you.

Calgary, we had an amazing Stampede and we’re already talking about how to top ourselves next year ;-) we hope to see you there! YAHOO!
